Mercy Fund
We here at Ascentia are grateful for the abundance we have received. That is why we started the Ascentia Mercy Fund more than a decade ago – as a way to bless residents.
The fund started out issuing gift cards to help our residents during the holiday season to help with meals and gifts. Over time the fund has grown to meet extreme and unexpected resident needs that arise throughout the year. In addition to issuing gift cards around Christmas, we seek out residents in our communities who struggle due to illness, under-employment, job loss, and various other hardships.
For example, the Mercy Fund donated $11,550 to residents of River Valley Village in Longmont, Colorado, in 2013 when flooding caused an emergency evacuation and devastated property and homes.
The Mercy Fund receives donations from Ascentia employees, vendors, and investors, and the company matches annual contributions on a dollar-for-dollar basis.
Each year the Fund raises roughly $25,000 and uses those funds to help residents identified by community managers as experiencing hardship. Our residents often take time to express their gratitude, and we include a few of their notes here. The Mercy Fund allows everyone to join in and contribute to a good cause while ensuring that Ascentia communities continue to be great places to live and work.
What Mercy Fund Recipients Have to Say
I live at Robbins Nest in Overton, Nevada. I had the good fortune of receiving a “Merry Christmas” gift card from your company. I am so grateful for your generosity. Along with what I have saved, this money has made it possible to fix my car and buy slippers.

No way, you didn’t have to do this. Every little bit helps at this time of year. This will guarantee a special Christmas dinner.

Thank you—this is the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me.
